Thanks to all who helped make Woodville Founders Day A Success
I wanted to take this time to thank all of the vendors, exhibitors, spectators, and social media friends who shared our posts about Founder’s Day, the business owners who donated raffle items, Brooke Hines Owner of S G Signs of Wakulla, once again for the awesome signage, Commissioner Caban’s office (Allie you rock) for your involvement in this year’s event, and I cannot forget to thank Verna Brock for her drive, development, and continued support of this great event. A huge thank you to Leon County Parks Director, Amanda Heidecker and Operations Manager, Tere Wodjan for going out of their way to accommodate our event while in the middle of renovating J. Lewis Hall Park. But the biggest thanks go out to my group of Dragon Slayers, The Woodville Volunteer Fire Department members. Without them, Founder’s Day would not happen. When you talk about March. madness we have it. The first weekend of March we were at the Battle of Natural Bridge for both days, the second weekend of March was our general meeting followed by two hours of training, and the third weekend in March was Founder’s Day. My DragonSlayers started their Founder’s Day at 0545, (that’s 5:45 am) and some of them did not complete their day until 1900, (7:00 PM). Whew, what a day! Yet, not one complaint was heard from this amazing group of volunteers who love to serve their community with pride. We have already started planning the 12th Annual Woodville Founder’s Day, March 15, 2025, at beautiful J. Lewis Hall Park located on Old Woodville Highway.
